Bad Bad Bad Tobie

I must be punished.

This whole month of February, I utterly became a lazy bum and failed to go to the gym AT ALL.  Really bad, considering all the development I achieved within the month of January.  Thankfully, I did retain my less-rice diet and have been sticking to healthy eating, so I avoided getting far too much a growth on my paunch.

Still, I'm lagging way behind.

Making an online promise to hit the irons this coming March.  Gotta get my beach bod ready for a) My birthday on April b) The Fandom Live! episode Karen and I are shooting in our swimwear c) Eventual beach gimmicks that are bound to happen

I wonder how much retraining I need to get myself into to regain the mindset I had last month.   As I type this, I can't seem to fathom doing 120 crunches a day again (although I know back in January, I was having such a power thrill knowing I was incrementally bringing the number of reps higher each week!)  There is also the factor of not really having any constant gym mates to join me.  My good friend Emman offered to join me for workouts if I could move my gym schedule to 7am or 8am.   I am now highly considering that for both the company and the fact that means I get to gain some more skin tone and lose the pale color I've had all these years (which sadly has lead some to disgustingly believe I was trying to "look like Edward" Yeeeugh)

But yeah, the gym addiction beckons.
I shall give in.

March.  The tally resumes.

It must.

There goes my shirt...

Dito nagsumula ang lahat. The girls were attacking me (and no, I wasn't really complaining!)

edit: According to Duds, October daw ito.

Just decided to make a compilation of the times I lose my shirt in a party or gimmick.

Almost a week of no gym...

It is horrible.

Really horrible.  And all it took was a single magnetic strip to conk out.

A few days ago, I discovered that my ATM card ceased to work.  All machines I tried using it on replied, "Magnetic Strip Invalid" and refused to let me get my money.  Horrible, I tell you.  This, of course, had to happen wtihin the same time my gym membership for the month expired.  The result?  I have been unable to get my membership renewed.   And even worse, I haven't been able to hit the gym again for quite some time.

Already I feel the fat gathering back around my abs.  Waaah!

Forced to borrow money from my parents (not a good thing to feel, I tell you), I am gonna have to shape up and catch up with my work out soon.

Big time.

Time passes far faster than one expects and Summer is getting nearer by the day.   Need to make sure my "pakshet" body is ready before then!

Mabuhay to Konami AM Internal Sound Team.
Wheee!!!

Just realized, one month of Gym so far...

Decided to post these pictures for an easy glimpse at how I've managed to get my ass into gear and my body into a healthier frame.  The huge paunch I had way back can easily be glimpsed in the picture above.  The picture on the top most was quite some years ago, back when Isha and I took a trip to Makiling area.  The picture following that with me in the Tommy H striped shirt was a few months after the Makiling one, with my tummy still quite evidently visible.  Following that was the "Mountain Dew" pool when ABBA had its company outing with me having been much more actively swimming and watching what I eat.  Still no, gym attempts back then save for the very brief spurt which barely lasted a month.

Total Tally so far:
Month One:Jan 2-Feb 02:
Gym - 15
Bar - 17

While it does feel bad to know I went to the bars more often than hit the gym last month, I do find myself giddy to realize I hit the gym 15 times in 31 days.   Although I do plan to go later today, I kinda have to scrounge up the monthly fee first.  Haven't been able to withdraw money yet so I definitely have to consider a stop by the bank before hitting Vigor later.

Tummy acting up a bit, however, so will have to wait and see if I can do so.

Gotta get more gym

Running way behind my gym workouts.  Gotta start catching up and getting more muscles growing if I want to hit my plans for this summer.

(Sunday to Saturday, Feb 1-Feb 7):
Gym - 0 Bar - 1

Total Tally so far:
Jan 2-Jan 31:
Gym - 15
Bar - 16

Had a fun time at Fandom Cafe today.  Although we shot two episodes for Fandom Live!, unfortunately, the computer itself didn't cooperate and only one episode of Fandom Live! actually was successfully saved.  The episode on the Death of Batman and the Battle for the Cowl was saved into the database.   Our We:View of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button wasn't, which in some ways felt apt since all of us weren't exactly sure if it was appropriate to be part of the show.  (We only decided to We:View it because none of us had seen Underworld:Rise of the Lycans yet).  Nico actually joined us as a guest host and it was kinda sad that the We:View episode wasn't saved since it wa the episode where he was much more vocal.

Much to my surprise, Paolo and Nina opted to join me at O Bar afterwards.   Nick only stayed to join us for a single beer.  Pao and Nina, on the other hand, enjoyed watching the O Divas!

Got home around 6:30 and was feeling kita tired after the long fun day.   Planning to be absent for the next few days from my usual attendance at O Bar to try and get some gym time back into my tally.  Desperate to balance out the scales better and keep my gym habit going.  Sayang naman if I allow myself to falter way too early.

The Open Gaming Meet is coming up this weekend.  Most likely, gonna cancel the usual gaming night with the T.R.O.P.A. to have enough time to host a Valentine's Day inspired Roleplaying game.  I only wonder how many players are willing to try a game which is more romantic than adventurous.   I guess only time will tell.

Heard from a Dream Today...

Strange dream.

Had a very strange dream today.  You know how you sometimes have those dreams where you're not really "there" in the dream but instead you are some kind of omniscience presence watching everything unfold?  I had that kind of a dream today.

Just remembered it as I was posting today's camwhoring session, cause the dream kinda connected to it.

It started out with me seeing myself in someone else's room.  This someone else being someone whom I kinda enjoy hanging out with.  I was sort of just watching the whole thing unfold as if I was a bunch of cameras in the room, catching the conversation.  The friend was on a couch, going through a few websites while his companion was there, reading a text message.  Companion happens to see a new blogpost of mine and curious, asks Friend to click it.

Friend: Ay yan, that's just Tobie camwhoring again.

Companion: Camwhoring, ano yon?

Friend: Having fun taking pictures of himself.  He's been hitting the gym lately and has been having fun documenting the developments.

Companion: Medyo cute siya... click mo nga.. ang liit ng pic eh.

Friend: I guess.  (clicks website)

Companion: Ay.. ang feeling naman nito.  Liit liit pa ng katawan, panay pictures na.  Pa pose pose pa.  Sabihan mo nga friend mo nakaka-turn off siya.

Friend:  ... He is my friend you know.

Companion: Ay sorry.  Just being honest, no.  Tanda tanda na.  Tapos akala mo naman kagandahan ang katawan.  Siguro sobrang inggit ito sa tulad natin.

Friend:  He's not like that you know.  He's a good friend of mine.  Really.

Companion:  Sana man lang may face.  Buti na lang walang gusto ito sa iyo, kundi ang badtrip non...

And at that I woke up.  Kinda forgot all about through the day, but now as I was prepping to post today's update as well as the kuwento on Mr. Silent Evil (he was there), it was this dream that suddenly came to mind.  Hay.  Talk about pathetic, diba.  Sarili kong unconcious ang naninira sa self-esteem ko!

Part of me was wondering if I was not just dreaming but actually picking up on something, since I have had some other-worldly experiences I couldn't easily dismiss in the past... but somehow that seems even worse a thing to consider.   Hay... ewan ko ba.

But yeah, that dream suddenly got me feeling a bit more conscious about camwhoring.  Maybe will have some kind of  code sa title (C) or something so those who don't care to read my camwhorin updates can easily skip past them.  Or something.

Ay whatever.

I'm still happy I am achieveing something for myself.

Hitting the Irons Again

Been neglecting my gym habit.  I keep typing it and I have yet to really DO something about it, so today I decided to do something.

Although work wasn't done, and even if my car wasn't available at that time, I decided to make my way to VIGOR gym at BF Homes and get some muscles pumping.   Hit my usual cardio routine, following it through with 200 side bends, 120 crunches and 120 leg lifts, then took a breather to drink some water before I dove back into the free weights and the machines.

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 25-Jan 31):
Gym - 2 Bar - 3

Sheeeyooot, the pain was unexpected.  All I did was go lax one week and suddenly I feel like a wee child trying to lift the weights for the first time.  All the grunting between mouthing lyrics of Ashley Simspon, Get Far, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and (yes, the odd songs in my mp3 player) stuff by Akira Yamaoka (Go Silent Hill!!!!) must have freaked out some of the other people in the gym considering by the time I was done, there was just me, two more people and the trainer left behind.

(At one point, while working on the bench, I was grunting out the lyrics to Silent Hill's "You're Not Here"...

So now what should I do,
I'm strung out, addicted to you
My body aches, now that you're gone
My supply fell trough

Gladly gave me everything you had and more
You craved my happiness
When you made me feel joy it made you smile
But now I feel your stress
Love was never meant to be such a crazy afair, no
And who has time for tears
Never thought I'd sit around and cry for your love
'Till now

The guy next to me stopped working on the rowing machine, looked at me, then asked, "Resident Evil yan diba?"   I shook my head, grunted to shove the weights up, and said, "Silent...."

And he goes, "Ay Silent Evil pala."

I nearly drop the weights on my face.)

Work has been flowing nonstop like a rising ride but thankfully, Lost and Battlestar Galactica are back to keep me smiling.  Been catching up also on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and been resisting the urge to dive into 30 Rock or start watching Demons.

Open meet next week.  This weekend is definitely another RPG night with the tropa.  Over all, a happy day so far...

... here in Silent Evil.

Bwahahah!

Camwhoring again

The quest to gain a healthier, better looking body continues!  Hit the gym again and damn, I feel great! Definitely have to catch up more on working out since the bar nights are gaining a lead on things, but taking these pictures are a great way to motivate myself.

Of course, the positive comments from friends, supporters (and fans) also help (hint hint!)

Was at O bar again after the meeting and work out last night.  Louie and Nico hitched a ride with me.  Got there to meet up with Doc, Jenny, Bong and eventually Carlo.  Even Voldermort was there, which was odd, but hey, at least I can now tolerate his presence without resorting to shoving him backwards with my hand on his face.

Great show by the O Divas, although the energy was lower than usual.  Dancing Queen player real early, but it was a hit with us sharing the moves I learned from ABS-CBN Global.

Si Louie ata na overdose sa extra                                             joss because at some point sobra uber hyper na siya sa pag sayaw.

Still, all in all a fun fun night as always.  Unfun nights are almost unheard of at O Bar.

Gotta work up more my chest, and abdominal exercises.  Ayoko naman magmukhang non-proportional.

Oh, belated birthday greetings to Carlo Vergara and to Mario Lozano!

Anxiously awaiting for the other pictures from the ADB Dinner and Drinking fun last saturday.  Unfortunately, Sonny has yet to upload his (for certain) 100+ pictures of that night.

It is another week.  Here's hoping we have lots of great things to look forward to!

Updates on what the Garapata's been up to

Been a heck of a week last week with lots of laughs, dancing, drama and growing self-esteem.  Although I've been failing last week to keep my gym focus on target, I definitely am feeling the benefits of going as often as I do.

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 18-Jan 24):
Gym - 3 Bar - 5

Total Tally so far:
Jan 2-Jan 24:
Gym - 12
Bar - 12

Animo Dugong Berde had a little get together at SM Mall of Asia last Saturday, which I decided to attend instead of having another round of Vampire: The Requiem.  No guilty feelings, after all, Seth and Sam were happilly setting a schedule to play Left 4 Dead in my absence (damn, that game really rocks!).   Though we failed to get to join the dinner at Cabalen, Migs and I opted to hit Fish and Company for some soft shell crab salad before heading on to Bed Scene for some beers and bonding time with the gang.

Afterwards, with Bed Scene closing, we decided to make our way next to Malate to see if O bar was read for us.   Horribly far too many people to get to dance, and even worse, had these annoying fuckwits who kept jostling me and elbowing me.  Thankfully, I kept my cool.   Got a message that Joseph and his friends were nearby and dropped by to say hi.  RD showed up a bit later, which was a pleasant surprise.  Had some more drama.  But all in all, a great fun evening.

Now, I'm here at Fandom Cafe as I type this.  It is gonna be a show about Battlestar Galactica and Lost having come back, Marvel Comics' Dark Reign, and DC Comics' Batman, his death and the battle for his cowl.

Still hoping to catch Totoy Bibo at O bar later.
Cheers!

Just some late night Camwhoring

Finished work just a few minutes ago.   Still in the long process of downloading my legal original copy of LEFT4 DEAD via the Stream network.  Still hoping to catch the first episode of the new season of LOST.  Still digesting the carb heavy meal I had in Yellow Cab with Louie, and digesting the complex and multifaceted events that transpired in last night's "double date."  Still using my battered old phone, which much to my surprise, has proven me wrong, embraced some unnatural superscientific means of undeath and started working again.  Still aching from the tiring but damn good work out at the gym when I suddenly realized I haven't been faithfully updated my blog with more gym/camwhore updates and realized I best rectify that tonight.

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 18-Jan 24): Gym - 2 Bar - 4

Dang it.  Haven't been hitting the weights as religiously as I should.  Nor have I gotten a jump start on the swimming habit I hoped to bring back into action in order to add some color into my slowly toning body.  Still got two more days to at least even the score.

Desperately missing sashimi and ice cream.  The first cause I haven't been able to eat it lately, and the second because I keep seeing chances to eat it all around me.

Buzzed my hair shot again, for those who might have noticed.   Kinda liking this... military-esque touch.  Goes with my belt too.

Oh, and I miss you.  Like the desert misses the rain.

Cheerio!

SATURDAY STATUS QUO

Already missing the work out sessions I used to have.  Arms feeling much better, and legs and thighs still screaming from the work out two days ago and last night's dancing.  It is a Saturday though, which means its gaming night with the tropa.  Another round of Vampire the Requiem to continue the tales of "The Cainite Heresy".

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 11-Jan 17):
Gym - 4 Bar - 4

Total Tally so far:
Jan 2-Jan 17:
Gym - 9
Bar - 7

Desperately need a trim too.  Hair getting quite unruly.  Especially consdering tomorrow I will be the godfather of Oliver's kid.  Pretty excited to be able to see Oliver and his family, considering the last time I saw them was back when he and his girl got married.

Still stunned over Final Crisis #6 which featured an incredible moment in DC comics history.  Of course, there are ways around it, but it was really truly a shock to see that litmus test of a dead character done with a visual homage to the iconic cover of Crisis in Infinite Earths #7.  I just hope that Morrison has more surprises in store for us.

Frustrated I can't get my copy of Silent Hill Homecoming to work.  Just about to finish PuzzleQuest and am purchasing a copy of Left 4 Dead to be able to play both with my friends and online.  Got also a copy of Prince of Persia but am still in the process of cleaning out my desktop computer, so I can't install it there yet.

Missing loads of people too.  Stan ain't back from the hills.  Don hasn't been showing up for any gimmicks.  Neither has Sonny been visible either.  Haven't been able to hit Fandom Cafe for Fandom Live (family stuff has been cropping up on Sundays).  Miss having them ice cream runs with Mika, Mara and Chiqui.  Haven't been able to toast with Jovan, Lynn, Beejay, and Hec.  Was unable to attend the recent Yale parties too.  Haven't worked on new film projects with Dek.  Or gamed with Benny, Adrian, Adam, Nabs, Victor and so many other people.  And of course, there's Isha whom I do miss and still hope to someday visit.  The supposed 2008 reunion of the old DLSU friends didn't push through.  The other mini reunion with my ABS-CBN former officemates hasn't either.

All in all, just shows how much I got to get my act together.  Grab a planner and start marking dates.   Heck, maybe even start considering having them too.  Hahahah!

Lastly, there's the new Watchmen site where you can catch the score and hear some of the character's speak their lines.   Something to tide us over til the movie is shown on March 6.  Enjoy folks! Its a weekend, after all!

FRIDAY FABLES

Current tally:

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 11-Jan 17):
Gym - 4 Bar - 3

It is a SAD day for me as far as gym is concerned.  As of two days ago, I think I overdid some arm exercises and injured my wrists.   Yesterday, my trainer decided I best lay off the weights for the next few days.  So as of yesterday and most likely later, its going to be just cardio, abdominals and leg work outs for me.

No pain, no gain, most say.  But damn, I rather not push it if the pain keeps me from completing a full set of reps.  Stayed home last night, which gives my gym tally a lead this week, however the lesser kind of work out means even if the bar tally merely hits equal, it still beats gym since I haven't been going full tilt with my weights.

Unless of course I shift my bar drinks from beer back to Vodka for a few days.  At least that kind of alcohol is more forgiving to the beltline.

Supposed to meet up with a friend today, but he's been totally unresponsive to text and messages online, so I'm considering rescheduling my night instead for some board and card games with Jots and his troupe.  I guess will just see how the night turns out later once work is done.

Thank God It is Friday, most say.
For me, however, Friday is only the second to the last day of work.  I still got tomorrow to contend with.

Progress Check aka Camwhoring again

Two weeks into going to the gym and I'm feeling mighty happy and proud of the results.  Tightening tummy, waistline tapering off, arms getting a bit more meat, chest very slowly but surely growing.   Back's barely showing promise so far, but I think it will eventually follow.

Definitely got to push the chest development more.  With the workout helping me regain the abs I used to sport back in highschool when I was actively a swimmer, the chest is looking mighty underdeveloped compared to it.

And yes, I still have no chin.

Gonna definitely hit the gym tonight and avoid any hit of going to Malate.  Part of me is thinking of reviving my old "escape" and hitting a spa again sometime soon.  Maybe I should ring up Eman or Johnboy (my "spa-ing partners") so at least I have someone to chat with while simmering in the steaming hot water.  A good massage would be a godsend, considering the beating I give myself each night at the gym, then dancing at O bar.

And yes, I know the room is a mess.  Need a new curtain rod, have to fix my stacks of stuff and books and slowly wean in some order into my chaotic room.  That yellow light behind me, however, is the same light this room had ever since it was first built back in 1981.  So yes, my friends, that darned this is actually OLDER than some of you.

Anyway, that's all for this blog post.  Gotta finish work so I can pump a bit more iron tonight.  Here's hoping the night ends even better with a serving of sashimi for dinner!

Wednesday Workload

Almost done with work and anxious to head out with some friends.  Hitting O bar again tonight to catch the O Divas with their hilarious performances and catchy songs.  Joseph and Patrick will be joining me (and hopefully, so will bestfriend Tom!) and since we all got work tomorrow morning, we plan to head home earlier.

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 11-Jan 17):
Gym - 3 Bar - 2

Yes, I know.  That's going to be an even three on three again later tonight.  But at least, as of this blog post, Gym is on the lead.  Heheheeh!

Camwhored again and look some pictures of my body earlier.  Starting to really see and feel the changes, to think its only been two weeks of working out (and really really watching what I eat.  Heck, I practically don't have dessert anymore.  Even Aldwin was surprised that the chocolates he gave me last Christmas are still in the ref.)  My left wrist was hurting from the arm workout yesterday though, and that kinda impaired my chest work out today, keeping me from doing more reps than I wanted to.

Still, I love this gym habit.  Love it so much, I'm starting to consider dropping some vices that have been hindering it.   But I guess time will tell.  I only have so much willpower to devote after all.

Saw parts of Fernando Meirelles' film adaptation of Jose Saramago's BLINDNESS.  So far, I am really really loving it.  The pacing is just great, the touches of human nature are so beautifully there.  The unpredictability of the developments are fantastic.  And yes, the director knows how to mix color, light, motion and sound really well.  If you haven't heard of this film, or seen it, I really highly recommend you do.

Lastly, got my HOT TICKET.  Haven't watched this filmed final Broadway run of RENT with the original cast though.   EQ on an all time high.  I'm saving watching this til I can't resist anymore!

The best things comes to those who wait, after all.

Tuesday Toiling

Was supposed to go camwhoring today, with my gym regimen nicely hitting my arms and shoulders, but found myself just not in the mood to go embarrass myself with more exposed skin.

(Or is this what you can nambibitin sa mga nasasanay na fans.)

Seriously though, just suddenly felt less enthusiastic today to go galavanting in front of the camera when I learned I still had a load of work to go through tonight.  I know I know, we work so we can party... but darn it, work can really get you down, eh?

Am excited for other things though, such as the upcoming digital film "9"

Supposedly to be released on 9.9.09, Tim Burton joins creative forces with the director of Wanted and Nightwatch, Timur Bekmambetov to produce wunderkind director Shane Acker's distinctively original and thrilling tale., 9.  The movie stars Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer and Crispin Glover and features the music of Danny Elfman.

When 9 (The Lord of the Ring's Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they'll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.

The movie reminds me of Little Big Planet and the two major creative minds helming the production really has me excited for this movie.

Other than is, is the fact that in less than two weeks...

Monday Motions

Hit the gym today.  Although the week officially began last night (Sunday), I kinda used Sunday up recovering from the all nighter game I had with Seth, Sam and Aldwin, then went to Church with my Mom and Yaya Bebie.  By the time that was over, I was prepping to hit Cubao and make my way to Fandom Live when I remembered that a friend had set a sched to have dinner with me.  So I informed Neek that I couldn't make it and texted my friend, whom to my knowledge was coming back from Tagaytay, to just text me once he was back.  Then I waited.

And waited.

At one point, I drove to my friend's house to save on time, then called him up to tell him I was outside.

He was at Cubao.  Pauwi pa lang.  Then asked, "Gigimik ka ba tonight?  Heading to O?"

I replied, "Uh, yeah, but sige I'll grab dinner na lang on my own.  I take it you forgot."

Turns out, he did.  He apologised naman, but still it was not too fun an experience.  Although it was early enough to catch up at Fandom Live, I was just in too rotten a mood to do the show and decided it was for the best I didn't try to catch up.   Was at O bar from 10:30p.m. (I was the ONLY person there) and had my fill of San Mig Light for the night, before deciding I had enough and made my escape to head home and sleep.

Monday, I decided, should be more fun.

Thankfully, I woke up in time for my lunch with Bambi and Lolit, old close friends of mine who were my blockmates back in college (that's what..fifteen years ago?)  The lunch was fantastic, with us sharing stories of what our lives are now inspired by, what directions we are taking, as well as all the funny recollections of how things used to be when we were young.  Sayang, wala yung ibang friends namin but we made a promise to have another mini reunion soon.

And finally, decided I did not want to waste the day and not hit the gym.  Since I did go drinking the night before, I had to balance the scales.

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 11-Jan 17):
Gym - 1 Bar - 1

So far the battle between the two is even.  Did some sweaty cardio work, then hit the floor to do my 120 crunches, 120 leg lifts and 200 side bends.  Then it was a work-out for my back, shoulders and some biceps.  Feel sore and happy all over, but I know tomorrow this is going to be a major ouch.  Was supposed to be hitting the spa with Eman tomorrow, but it turns out he's cancelling it cause he's spending time with his dad on a trip to Cebu.

Feels real good to see the gym give these results, even if they're temporary and not long term yet.  Feels real good to be working out the stress and straining on the weight.  Feels alive.  Feels empowering.

And it reminds me, if I put my mind to it, I can accomplish what I want.

Just remember it takes one step at a time.

(Yes, camwhoring pictures uploaded today.  Actually decided to post them and similar shots more frequently to "monitor" my development.  Kinda realized I'd love to look back at them years from now and either say, "That's the time I decided I can look great," or "That's the time I tried to look better but frigged it up."  Enjoy na lang!  Nakikisilip ka lang naman, eh!)

REPOSTED: for some reason nawala ang first one

Just have to let some rants out again.

To Mr. Bigtime Film Na Ako,
Seriously, mahiya ka naman. Ang tagal tagal ko nang hinihingi sa iyo ang mga DVDs ko. Please lang. Why you have the time and resources to do everything else EXCEPT return what is rightfully mine, I have no idea. Papalampasin ko na nga yung na walang original DVD na regalo sa akin, ibalik mo lang please ang ibang mga DVD ko.

To Extraenous Element Who Called Me Plastic,
Thankfully, patience is a virtue. And yes, I can somewhat see your efforts naman in trying to be my friend again. I see no effort whatsoever to make up for the fucked up shit you pulled on me and my friends, but at least you're starting somewhere.

To Pathetic Ugly Chinese Faggot,
You smacked my friend on the head from behind. And she, unlike you, is a real woman. Grabe, mahiya ka sa balat mo. If karma doesn't get you, I promise I will the very moment you cross the line again. I don't fucking care who you or your family may be connected to. No one fucking hits a girl from behind and gets away with it.

Salamat na lang may mgs stress ball sa buhay...

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 4-Jan 10):
Gym - 4
Bar - 3

Gym takes the lead once again as I hit VIGOR today with the determination to ignore the pain and get my body moving again. Sonny and his friend were there already, nearly done with their work-out. Tom arrived much later. Got the USB I borrowed from my dad to work and was working out to the usual O Bar dance hits. Faltered at Womanizer and silently laughed at myself as Apologise began to play. Noticed someone giving be glances and until now I still wonder if that meant I looked that cute, or that person thought I was someone who had no right to be in the gym.

Having Tuna and salad for dinner. Mom insisted I add Chicken, so its a no rice night for me. Wanted Sashimi instead, but I guess I best have more ruffage. Worried though. Alvin is back from San Francisco and inviting us all to eat and drink at his place. Usually, visiting Alvin is like entering the sargasso sea: there's no escaping the place.

Happy Birthday greetings to Jovan, by the way, who I heard is bracing for an assault of friends heading to Malaysia (her place, which we call Malaysia kasi Malayo Siya.) Tempted to take the long drive there, but worried gym exhaustion + alcohol + distance might equal another ruined car. And somehow, I doubt I'd only spend another 50k if that happens.

Still, it is a Friday.

I don't think I want to just stay home.

At sinong si mapapasayaw sa ulan?

Tatawa na lamang, at bakit hindi
Ang aking damdamin, pniaglalruan ng baliw at ng ulan.
At sinong si mapapasayaw sa ulan?

Woke up to a rainy morning (Gago, afternoon na!  1:30p.m. is afternoon no matter how  muted the sun is) and found myself tugging my comforter closer to try to ward of the cold.  Arms were hurting worse than yesterday, with relief only coming after I forcibly stretched them straight.  Guess all them dumbell curls are hitting me hardest today.  Last night, with the usual suspects at O bar, kinaka ko pa sumayaw and all that jazz.  Today, something as simple as pulling a pair of boxer shorts on was challenge to say the least.

Missed gym yesterday.  Holding on to Sonny's statement the other day that we were to meet up for gym at 6:00p.m., I waited and looked forward to having a gym buddy with me for my supposed next work.  Since the gym closes at 8:00p.m. when 7:30p.m. rolled along with neither call nor text message from him, I decided to be the one to text and ask where he was.  Turns out, he decided to move his gym schedule to the next morning instead (and I guess just happened to forget to tell me.)  So yep, lost a guy day yesterday.

Today, I was hoping to jump back into it.  But with my arms hurting as it is, I am still considering how this will turn out.  It is still early (2:30p.m.) so there's no need to finalize things this soon, but I will definitely find a way to a) hit the gym and burn some more Holiday fats, b) Drive by to visit a friend, c) once again consider whether or not I'm spoiling myself with a trip to Yellow Cab or something but if I do, better hurry cause it is my Dad's birthday today.

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 4-Jan 10):
Gym - 3
  Bar - 3

Scores are tied.  Better lay off on the booze again and hit the gym before Sunday.  At least makapag-cardio ng kaunti, tapos weights, tapos sauna.  But I dunno.  Got work to do first and sadly, work pays the bills and allows one to have fun.

My chest, my tummy, my shoulders, my arms....

Pain.
But damn, it is a good pain.

Feeling the sore muscles starting to remember that they exist.  Woke up barely able to rise from bed, and after a few moments of stretching and telling myself "wala pang namamatay sa stretching" I finally made it to the bathroom and saw my reflection on the mirror.  Tried to capture it with my digital camera (camwhore attempt for day; check!) and decided, what the hell, might as well post it for prosterity (and laugh trip) sake.

Iba talaga ang pain-pleasure high ng working out.  Parang there's an sleeping sadomasochist inside every one of us.  I stretched again, felt the tiny explosions of ouch all over my arms and shoulders, then felt the swoon of seeing and feeling how much more firmer they can get.

Yes, get.

Kasi get's ko naman temporary state lang ito.  Not until I really get into the habit of working out more often... and cutting down on my beer.

Which reminds me, running tally for this WEEK

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 4-Jan 10):
Gym - 3
  Bar - 2

So far so good.  Got a bit antsy last night and decided to hit O Bar to meet up with RD and Nico.   Switched back to San Miguel Lights and (I know, I know) had 5 bottles.  It is a start, however, so don't nag me.  :-P

Oh yeah, the Open Gaming Meet is coming up this Saturday too.  Do come if you can!
And just because I know hihiritan na naman ako nina Tom et al, I added the poll above.  Answer it!!!

GYM UPDATE: Ouch ouch ouch pain pain pain... SARAP!

Another day at the gym.  This time, Tom and Sonny were able to join me for the few rounds of torture and vanity-feeding.

Burned enough calories to not feel guilty about a single San Miguel Light on the step-master.  Then came the 300 side bends for the eventual Adonis Belt, and the 100 crunches and leg raises.

Having worked on back and chest yesterday, decided to try hitting the arms and shoulders today.  Pathetic weakling that I am, was glad to know I can do triceps with 25lbs now (considering for some time, I could only manage 5lbs!)  The dumbbell curls were a painful chore still, and sadly the pictures don't capture how "swollen" they look and feel right now.   Ah, the sacrifices of being in this damn cocoon to transform myself.

I just know tomorrow, I am going to wake up in a world of hurt.

And this is all worth it.  Hehehe.  There were others in the gym earlier who obviously have been lifting weights for much longer than I have.  Some day... someday.. may mga maiingit din sa body ko the way I was envious of theirs.

Gym = the legal way to indulge in sadomasochism.
