SIXTEEN MONTHS TOGETHER...
...and not even an ocean can keep us apart, love! Even if I find myself staring at my empty hand when in the movies, remembering how I used to hold yours while we watch a film, or find myself wanting to check out a new restaurant but finding the lack of willingness to experience it alone, or finding a new game, a new hobby, a new event and wishing you were with me to check it out, I don't always feel like you're too far away.
Sometimes, when the world stops screaming at me with its deadlines, its demands and its required-but-not-desireds, I escape away and hide from prying eyes and let the tears and heart-aches take over. I let them out and have a moment of weakness and if-onlys take over.
But after a few seconds...
Or maybe a minute or two...
...I stop.
I stop and remember the inner strength you have which I noticed back then when we used to take walks around U.P. Diliman during my extended lunch breaks. I remember the courage the young beautiful woman I met back at Starbucks, ABS-CBN, who went to meet with me, a stranger she only knew based on a few blog posts and YM messages, and found in me a friend.
And more.
I love you Patricia Raine Mallare Pimentel. I love you with my heart, my head, my body and soul. I love you because you remind me how much I can be a better person. I love you because you make me want to become a better person.
I love you.
And no distance on Earth or beyond will ever change that.
Happy Sixteen Months love!
(Or One year and four months, if you prefer!)
And here's to someday having....

... this!

One of them depressing days...
Yeah. Stress can really throw a man down, sometimes. Today is one of those days I guess. Hence the sudden urge to blog. With not-too-creative kind of work overwhelming me, I find myself getting delayed in delivering the other more creative projects I had in mind. My storyboard for Ma-an, Mike and Weiss is horribly horribly delayed. My brain feels too squeezed up for James. My Exalted game plans haven't been put down to writing. My fanfilm for the Toycon is falling into the "Next year na lang" shelf and my Diliman comic book is sooo horribly late, it makes Ellis' Planetary look like its on time!
I miss my Panda Bear.
I miss her so much. With her, even if I was so terribly tired, I'd find myself suddenly smiling and just happy to get out of the house. Even if I wasn't that much a Starbucks fan, I'd be lounging in the cafe with her and enjoying watching her drink her chocolate. Even if I wasn't feeling like it, I'd pick myself up and head to wherever she wanted to go... Luneta... Divisoria... Malate... U.P.. and enjoy being there with her.
She recharged me by just being there.
Here's to getting my chance to leap to Vancouver soon someday. Even if it means just to pay her a visit. With the 15th coming up, we're about to hit one month apart. But I guess we're doing great considering the benefits the modern world has to offer now. I remember those times one had to wait three damn months to get a letter from a loved one abroad. Now, with YM, Scype and cellphones, keeping in touch is really just a heartbeat away.
Still, I miss you, Isha.
Every damn day.

SOME MOVIE UPDATES:

DEATH is alive again!
Looks like they're going to get the movie started (again) with the coming of the film adaptation of Stardust, writer Neil Gaiman talked to ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! about the status of his directorial debut, an adaptation of his Death: The High Cost of Living comics from Vertigo.
From what I've read looks like Guillermo del Tori will be executive producing it, which sounds great considering his recent opus, Pan's Labyrinth was so beautifully done.
30 DAYS of NIGHT trailer online!
Imagine being stuck in a part of the world where vampires show up, and you the night lasts for 30 long days. A movie adaptation of the comic is now online! Check it out! http://www.30daysofnight.com/ Cast includes Josh Hartnett, Melissa George and Ben Foster. What worries me though is the man helming the project. Sam Raimi of Spider-man.

MY APOLOGIES
Yes, my dear friends, I apologise for the sudden lack of posts and whatnots in my blog. I guess after my Panda bear left for Vancouver, I suddenly found myself going through a lot of events which I prefer I kept private for the meantime.
I have been doing some other stuff, however, which I should talk about and I promise to try and get back to my writing chops soon enough. Have projects I am part of to talk about, as well as some new stuff which have entered my life and tickled my fancy.
The Panda Bear is adjusting as well. Last time I spoke with her, she already has a slight hint of the accent! (Yes, she denies it but I would know. Heheheh!) For those who know her YM, you can catch her online around 4:00 to 6:00 in the morning at times, so do try to say Hi!
Catch you all again soon!

A Game of Beautiful Madness
The May 31st Preview of Changeling: The Lost
www.white-wolf.com
The protagonists of this modern fairy tale are the changelings, or as they often call themselves, the Lost. Stolen away from their human lives as children or adults, they spent what seemed like years or even centuries in Faerie, chattel to beautiful but inhuman lords and ladies. Fed on faerie food and drink, they gradually became more fae themselves, their bodies shifting slightly to reflect their roles. Some, however, managed to escape. Holding on to their memories of home, they found their way through the winding thorns of the Hedge, the barrier between the mortal world and time-twisted Faerie.
Their return, however, was all too bittersweet. Some came back twenty years after they'd first vanished, even though it had never seemed that long to them in Faerie. Others who had reached adulthood in Arcadia found that they returned only a few hours after their abduction. And almost all found, horribly enough, that they weren't missed. The Fae had been thorough. Left in the stead of each abducted changeling was a replica, a simulacrum, a thing that looked like him or her — but wasn't. Now, with inhuman strangers living their lives and nowhere to go, the Lost must find their own way in the world that was stolen from them.
