SATURDAY STATUS QUO

Already missing the work out sessions I used to have.  Arms feeling much better, and legs and thighs still screaming from the work out two days ago and last night's dancing.  It is a Saturday though, which means its gaming night with the tropa.  Another round of Vampire the Requiem to continue the tales of "The Cainite Heresy".

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 11-Jan 17):
Gym - 4 Bar - 4

Total Tally so far:
Jan 2-Jan 17:
Gym - 9
Bar - 7

Desperately need a trim too.  Hair getting quite unruly.  Especially consdering tomorrow I will be the godfather of Oliver's kid.  Pretty excited to be able to see Oliver and his family, considering the last time I saw them was back when he and his girl got married.

Still stunned over Final Crisis #6 which featured an incredible moment in DC comics history.  Of course, there are ways around it, but it was really truly a shock to see that litmus test of a dead character done with a visual homage to the iconic cover of Crisis in Infinite Earths #7.  I just hope that Morrison has more surprises in store for us.

Frustrated I can't get my copy of Silent Hill Homecoming to work.  Just about to finish PuzzleQuest and am purchasing a copy of Left 4 Dead to be able to play both with my friends and online.  Got also a copy of Prince of Persia but am still in the process of cleaning out my desktop computer, so I can't install it there yet.

Missing loads of people too.  Stan ain't back from the hills.  Don hasn't been showing up for any gimmicks.  Neither has Sonny been visible either.  Haven't been able to hit Fandom Cafe for Fandom Live (family stuff has been cropping up on Sundays).  Miss having them ice cream runs with Mika, Mara and Chiqui.  Haven't been able to toast with Jovan, Lynn, Beejay, and Hec.  Was unable to attend the recent Yale parties too.  Haven't worked on new film projects with Dek.  Or gamed with Benny, Adrian, Adam, Nabs, Victor and so many other people.  And of course, there's Isha whom I do miss and still hope to someday visit.  The supposed 2008 reunion of the old DLSU friends didn't push through.  The other mini reunion with my ABS-CBN former officemates hasn't either.

All in all, just shows how much I got to get my act together.  Grab a planner and start marking dates.   Heck, maybe even start considering having them too.  Hahahah!

Lastly, there's the new Watchmen site where you can catch the score and hear some of the character's speak their lines.   Something to tide us over til the movie is shown on March 6.  Enjoy folks! Its a weekend, after all!

Saguijo, Government and the Babe

Today, Alvin was having a dinner and drinking party at his house.  Sadly, before he was able to inform me of it, I had already said yes to hanging out with two other friends of mine who wanted to hit Saguijo.

So, even with my body aching from the gym, I headed to Alvin's place and had a San Mig light para naman kahit pa paano I took part in the celebrations there.  After, I made my way to pick up Patrick, one of my friends, after quickly dropping by to get something I had accidentally left behind.  From there, we made our way to Makati.

Knowing Stan, Nico, Grace, RD and others were planning to hit O bar, I was torn.  Deep down I wanted to meet up with all of them again for another night of laughs and dancing, but I had to stick to my commitments.   Patrick informed me that Joseph and his friends were considering going to Malate after, so I decided we might as well go to Saguijo first.

It was an emotional moment for me.  Isha and I used to go to Saguijo every now and then.  While there, I couldn't help but give her a call and check on how she was.  Being there reminded me of those times we were there, watching bands such as Pumping Pluto and enjoying the food.  Bumped into Ebe, who was surprised to hear the "news" and then bumped into Miro who was happy to see me again.  It was a cool night, with me meeting new friends and enjoying laughs over Red Horses (omg, sayang ang gym!)

Around 2:00, the guys decided to move to a new locale, and sadly, the group decided to hit Government instead.  Two of them (Joseph included) had friends who were currently there.  So I decided, sige, minsan lang naman, I might as well join them.

Government was a bit sparce on people.  There were barely people dancing on the dance floor.  After having a glass of Orange Juice (Php100) I realized with the prices, I might as well get something I really wanted and got a San Mig Light (my fourth beer for the night).  Trading jokes and stories with some of Joseph and Patrick's friends, I got to know how much more cool they were and realized I was happy I was getting to know them.

Around 4:00, this well dressed attractive woman sat beside me and Mark, Joseph's friend, and started chatting with us.  She was perky in more ways than one, suggesting the presence of other... elements in her system.  And when she kissed me on the cheek, I teased her that a real kiss doesn't land there.

So she kissed me on the lips.

It was a surprise.  Totally unexpected.  I guess I still have some charm after all.

She asked for my number.  I gave it, but did tell her that I was just here to enjoy the music and dance.  She told me, "Sige, next time I see you, let's dance ha."

Definitely, an unexpected kind of an evening for me.
Thanks again to Joseph and Patrick for entertaining me.'

(Sunday to Saturday, Jan 4-Jan 10):
Gym - 4 Bar - 4

I only hope hindi magtampo sa akin sina Jovan for not showing up sa Malaysia!
Off to bed! See you when I wake up!

May Mumu Sa WebCam Ko

Recent chat with my Panda Bear ended like this:
Isha: wahh nagpixelize
Isha: babyt may tumawid sa likod mo
Isha: is someone else there?
Isha: ok the cam just froze again
Isha: am going to sleep na

Tobie: good night sweetie
Tobie: wah
Tobie: walang tumawid
Tobie: am alone
Tobie: waah
Isha: am freaked

Isha: kasi meron talaga!
Isha: waaah
Tobie: waaah
Isha: ok it's time to sleep
Isha: byebe
Tobie: bye bye love
Tobie: MWAH

For the third time now, something has been seen walking past behind me while I was webcamming.  The first time this happened, I had just bought my A4 Tech camera and was chatting with my girlfriend for the first time when she claims a long haired young woman in white suddenly walked by behind me.  Being a former Spirit Questor, I tried to detecting anything nearby but failed to sense anything malignant.  I decided to brush it off as just her teasing me to scare me...

...until one of my good friends, Johnboy, suddenly saw the same figure.  Neither of them have talked about it, and yet their descriptions of the thing was the same.  Female.  Long hair.  White clothes.  Walking past behind me.

I tried to shut them both out, thinking they were just playing a prank at me.  Maybe they planned this out from the beginning.

A few weeks later, I was sleeping in my room with the window curtains open (a rare thing.  I usually shut the curtains since I hate the idea of waking to see someone by the window watching me sleep... hint hint...)  My sister and her friend has just gotten home from some gimmick early morning when they saw the open window, then saw someone in white walk by inside.  They called out to me, greeting me good morning, and when the figure in white ignored them, they thought maybe I was just too sleepy to answer.

Too sleepy indeed.  Minutes later, I woke up, headed up to the main house for something to eat, and they saw me and greeted me again and teased me about not answering earlier when they called out.  When my sister noticed I was actually wearing BLACK, she asked, "Kuya, whose your friend downstairs?  We greeted him by mistake."

There wasn't anyone with me.

So now, months after these earlier incidents, my Panda Bear has seen my strange visitor again.

Astig diba?

So who wants to stay over?

What Makes Coming to Starbucks so Worth It in Vancouver, BC ?

My baby is so hawt!!!!
Sexy Starbucks Sweepers Steal my heart.

Taken by JSimpson.

Ouch and Yay

Was in a fight the other day.
Who would have thought, eh?

Thankfully, the injuries were slight.  Just a sprained ankle and a gashed elbow.
Although I felt the sprain after the fight, I actually ignored for a few minutes, drove home with it, and made the big mistake of showering after getting home rather than making sure the sprain is warmed up and kept wrapped.

So now it hurts like frigging hell and I am forced to hobble around the room like a decapitated chicken.

The reasons behind the fight are irrelevant for now.
But the possibility of misinformation does exist.  So to all my friends, family, etc, if you hear anything concerning me that sounds "out of character" or "wrong" within the next few days or so, just bear in mind it could be spiteful words being passed around against me by someone who used to be my friend.

Why the defensiveness in this post?
Why not just say who did what and whether or not that person can be trusted, etc?

Because deep down I still believe that person can realize the wrong things that person keeps doing, and make a truly notable effort to change.  And apologize.

People deserve second chances.

Or third ones.

My Panda Bear was actually "present" in the fight.  She showed up at the perfect moment to calm me down and remind me to rein my temper in.   After I moved to intercept two friends (again, me doing this... what's with that?) who were clearly about to get into a fistfight of some sort, I was inadvertently shoved backwards, off-balanced, and ended up landing on my right arm, scraping my elbow.  At that time, I failed to notice I had sprained by ankle as I fell.  It was clipped the "wrong way" against the street.  I remain thankful I didn't see it happen.  One of those watching the fight did though.  Sakit daw ng hitsura.

And I got pissed.

Leapt up, threw two punches, then realized I might do worse, grabbed the other by the hands and pinned him against a wall.  And just when tempers were flaring and I was almost on the verge of no longer caring-

A sudden downpour of cold strong rain.

Yep.  My Raine appeared at the right moment to calm me down.
People watching the fight scattered away to hide from the downpour.  One friend of mine ran into the scene to pull the other one I was fighting with away.  And there I was, like some action hero ready for his close-up, just standing in the downpour and slicking my hair back.

I love you sweetie.   Even an ocean apart, you're ready to wake me back into focus and calm.

On the other hand, today marks a very special day.
I hope my Panda Bear Isha forgives me for posting this papazzari shot of hers with a mystery man who covers his own face with a camera.  (Hmm... hehehe, joke! Biro lang Lem!)

Does anyone know if the supposed reunion Eheads concert is for real?  And how one can get tickets in advance.  My sweetie is determined to watch if it is real and will travel back home to see if once I get the tickets.  So if anyone out there can help me out, do raise your hand and PM me asap!

What began at LOVE IS IN THE FAIR back in Feb 14, 2006 is once again celebrated today in both Vancouver and Manila.
Happy 2 years and 5 months love.

I love you so much sweetie!  Even if you were able to finish Final Fantasy XII much sooner than me (Heck, I am still working my way through Giruvegan.

I'll see you soon.

Updates: My Current State of Being

1) Emotional Rollercoaster
Been having major swings up and down as of the late with some personal matters that I cannot fully disclose as of now.  What I can say, however, is please add to your parents petitions for Good Health and Healing to all your friends, family, and family of friends.

2) Missing My Panda Bear
Wish I could visit her sooner, but I guess it has to be baby steps until things are really ready.  To be able to visit her, I need to accomplish the following: a) a means to work even while abroad, b) my Canadian visa renewed, c) Enough cash to last the trip and finance our nights out when I get there, d) A place to stay so I don't have to crash over their house.

Still working on b, c, and d.  Currently accomplishing a.  Getting myself a laptop.   Was dead set on getting  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8770582&type=product&id=1203815723071 a Toshiba to give me the accessibility I need.   But I heard a new model came out the week my parents were going to order it for me.  So I am waiting to see how that goes.

My sweetie had a Guiness last night with some friends I guess at an Irish pub.  Wah... I wish I was with her during the time.  I recall having one back in St. Patrick's day with some friends (Nick, Alec, the Fab sisters and Nina) and that was the night I paid around 350 for a can of Guiness, and met that guy who looks like Liam Neeson.  Hmm.. On hindsight, that guy did promise to treat me to another can when I return.

Missing her tremendously.  For those who are willing, please also add "May Tobie and Isha receive blessings from the Pinya." to your prayers.  Alam na ni Lord what that means. :-)

3) Samsung X8-20 Broken
I think I dropped my cellphone one too many times.  There is now a fine crack across the whole screen that seems to be damage from the inside since I cannot feel the crack when I slide my thumbnail against the screen.  The damage is enough, however, that the phone shuts down on its own at times.  Sigh.  My phone used to be protected by a little nice cushioned bag.  I lost that bag for a few weeks and it seems the phone got battered enough during those two weeks to get this damaged.

I am going to have to invest on a new phone soon.

4) Gaming Keeps Me Sane
Thankfully, I still get to have my once a week gaming session with my friends.  Well, usually, that is.  The Exalted game has finally reached the last "major story arc" and the players are really feeling the pressure now.

In preparation for the days we are not complete, Aldwin has also offered to run for us a Dragonlance Campaign.  That should be fun.  I probably would create a character similar to Riva Silvercrown (although likely sticking to a Knight rather than a Paladin class) if I were to play in it.  It is d20, so I'm not too keen on it yet, but then again, it could be worse.

Probably shelving the plans to play a Weapons of the Gods campaign after Exalted.  Obviously had fun with the Amber diceless session, but I dunno.  Maybe will hit back Changeling or Vampire after instead.  Or better yet, try their new World of Darkness (Lost and Requiem respectively) incarnations instead.

5) Open Gaming is coming this Saturday
Yep.  That too.  Here's hoping to see a lot of new fresh faces.
What's the Open Gaming Meet?  Check here.
