Peter Milligan and Duncan Fegredo's ENIGMA is a story about a man named Michael Smith, a mysterious masked hero called Enigma, the Truth, Mothers and Lizards.
Released back in 1993, the book touches on mature issues ranging from relationships, to love, to sex, to gender, to identity, to family, to so much more that to try to summarize it in this answer would do it a great disservice.
One thing is for certain, after reading the comics, I found myself understanding myself more. And understanding the world with a renewed perspective.
