you are in a burning building that is about to collapse... your sibling is with you, and there are three other strangers in the building... you can only rescue one or the other: 1 sibling, or 3 strangers...who would you rescue, and why?
In all honesty, I would rescue my sibling. If it were possible to rescue both and sacrifice myself, of course, I'd choose that instead.
But yeah, family bonds are thicker than stranger shadows.
