Review: Windstruck

Another Korean film that just makes me smile and cry at the same time. Windstruck is the story of Kyungjin and Myungwoo, who meet in the most unlikeliest of circumstances and find a love tha texists forever. Kyungjin is played by Jun Jihyun whose work in MY SASSY GIRL caught my attention. Her ability to portray both the mature woman and the naive girl is simply incredible. Because of her, I'm now hunting for copies of White Valentine, Il Mare and Uninvited. Jang Hyuk on the other hand first caught my notice in VOLCANO HIGH as the orange-haired protagonist. Here, he breaks boundaries and shows a penchant for being sincere, earnest and passionate.

Though the film doesn't flow as smoothly as MY SASSY GIRL, and tends to have scenes that feel more like nods towards those directions, the use of nice poetic touches, wind and yes, the incredible ending, just really makes the movie absolutely worth watching.

And yes, it makes you fall in love all over again.
